Choosing a charging current

The standard Segway E300SE charger is commonly rated at 12A. For a compatible E300SE setup, 15A may suit two batteries; 20A may suit three batteries. A 20A adjustable charger can be set lower for one or two batteries. These suggestions do not automatically apply to E150 or E125S.

Keep the selected current within the limits of the battery, BMS, connector and wiring.

Charging time

Divide battery capacity in Ah by charger current in A for a rough estimate. For a 28Ah battery at 15A, 28 ÷ 15 ≈ 1.9 hours, or about two hours. Actual charging usually takes longer as current tapers near full charge. For regular use, a current near the rating of your existing charger is recommended.
