The controller is not supplied with one universal program because battery, motor and riding requirements differ. Programming instructions and software are supplied after purchase. The self-learning feature detects the connected motor parameters.

Functions retained after installation

The Segway app, dashboard, lighting and other standard electronic functions remain available. On some scooters, automatic locking may be disabled. Some original dashboards may also stop displaying accurately above 45 km/h even though the scooter is travelling faster.

The original E110 and E125 system uses a lower voltage. A 72V battery provides more voltage for stronger performance and can also deliver substantially more range when fitted with a larger capacity. A programmable controller is required because the original controller is not designed for the new voltage.

Available battery configurations include 72V, 84V and 96V options. The correct voltage, BMS, controller, motor and wiring must be selected as one matched system.

Installation process

  1. Turn off the scooter and disconnect the battery.
  2. Remove the rear body panel where required to access the controller screws.
  3. Disconnect and remove the original controller.
  4. Install the new controller and adapter cable.
  5. Reconnect the battery and perform the self-learning procedure.
  6. Enter suitable battery and current limits, then test at low power first.
