Description
NIU Scooter ECU (Electronic Control Unit) Replacement
The NIU Scooter ECU (Electronic Control Unit) is the central control module of the scooter. It manages essential functions such as starting and shutting down the scooter, communication with the dashboard, app connectivity, and GPS tracking. If the ECU fails, the scooter may not start or communicate with the NIU app.
If your scooter displays Error 67 or Error 99, the ECU is one of the most common causes. Replacing the ECU typically resolves these errors.
For scooters equipped with the V3 ECU, we will supply a V35NB ECU as the replacement, as it is the recommended upgrade and is compatible with these models.
For the V35NB version, the package also includes:
- Two remote key fobs.
- No mechanical key is required to start the scooter.
Important Notes
- Every country uses a different cellular SIM configuration. After replacing the ECU, the original NIU app functions (including GPS and remote connectivity) will no longer work.
- The scooter itself will continue to operate normally after installation.

Finally, no more Error 99. Unfortunately, I keep getting Error 69 instead though that’s to be expected, since I don’t have the option to connect via the app (which was stated beforehand). The only downside is that there’s no way to set the clock; otherwise, it’s great.
